In 2018 we received information from a South African Agapornis breeder that the dun fallow Agapornis fischeri / Agapornis personatus could possibly be an allele of the a-locus. We published our insights in 2018 in an article in the BVA-International magazine and a few weeks ago we published this article online.
As a result of this online publication, we received a report from Indonesia on breeding results between dun fallow green and pastel green Agapornis fischeri, where all youngsters are born with an intermediate color. That could bolster the theory that dun fallow is indeed an allele of the a-locus. Of course further test pairings should confirm this. We like to hear when other enthusiasts have similar breeding results.
Thanks in advance
